25 Years Ago, the First Mobile Phone Call Was Made in India, Costing Over Rs 8/Minute

Erstwhile Union Telecom Minister Sukh Ram and Chief Minister of West Bengal Jyoti Basu were the first two individuals to establish a mobile phone call in India, on Nokia mobile phones that were connected through airwaves operated by Modi-Telstra.
